OPINION: Two Things Nnamdi Kanu Enjoyed When He Was First Arrested Which He Might Not Enjoy Again

A lot of you must have heard of the re-arrest of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of IPOB.

Recall, he was first arrested in 2015 but was later released on bail due to health complications. While waiting for the date of trial, he fled Nigeria.

These are two things he enjoyed the first time he was arrested which he might not enjoy again.

After Nnamdi Kanu was arrested in 2015 in Lagos and charged with treason, he was held in custody for over a year until he was granted bail in 2017. Due to the way he left Nigeria after he was granted bail, he might not be shown such leniency again.

Judging from the way he opposed Nigeria's government and the threat he poses to the unity of Nigeria, he might not be released on bail this his first arrest, many people from the South-East region staged several protests demanding his release. I don't think such a thing will happen again because IPOB has been proscribed as a terrorist group, and anyone who comes out to protest for Nnamdi Kanu's release might be seen as an IPOB member and treated as a terrorist.

What do you think will happen to Nnamdi Kanu when he's brought before the court on the 27th of July?
