OHANAEZE NDIGBO Reveals Nnamdi Kanu Secret, Tell Nigerian Govt. What To Do For Nnamdi Kanu To Surrender

The Nigerian government has been urged by Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the apex Igbo socio- cultural organization, to take advantage of the secession agitations by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Movement for Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), and other pro- biafra organizations to integrate Ndigbo in power sharing, equity, and cooperation by making the 2023 presidential election a right of the Igbos.

The Engr Chidi Ibe- led Ohanaeze Ndigbo lamented the current scenarios playing out as a result of the rising agitations for secession by different ethnic nationalities in Nigeria, particularly in Igbo land, in a statement made available to DAILY POST in Umuahia, the Abia State capital, on Saturday, saying that it is high time the Nigerian government engages in genuine negotiations with aggrieved people.

The highest Igbo group expressed sadness for the problems surrounding Mazi Nnamdi Kanu' s arrest and extradition to Nigeria for the continuation of his trial, urging the government to follow the rule of law in the prosecution of the secessionist leader' s claimed treason charges.

Kanu, according to Ohanaeze, should be forgiven, awarded presidential amnesty, and reintegrated into Nigerian society.

" Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has disputed claims of relentless, indiscriminate, and extrajudicial killings, as well as insecurity, which were devouring our country. Kalu should be absorbed into the Nigerian scheme of things, " the organization stated.

The group filed a peace suit in Igboland, claiming that Ndigbo would not abandon Kanu throughout his trial.

" Kanu is an Igbo son and cannot be disowned for misapplication and misappropriation of words and decisions in his thoughts, acts, and inactions, " according to the apex authority.

The faction also used the platform to urge caution among various youth groups, advising them to refrain from any action that could jeopardize the country' s peace and order.

" The youths should remain calm, law- abiding, and carry on with their normal legitimate activities while allowing the law to take its course and bearing in this situation, " it stated.

Similarly, the World Igbo Peoples Assembly (WIPA), a socio- cultural organisation in southeast Nigeria, has called for the prosecution of Nnamdi Kalu, the leader of the Indigeneous People of Biafra (IPOB), on the basis of the rule of law.

Kanu' s trial, according to the group, should be based on verifiable evidence rather than hearsay or propaganda.

The WIPAS demand was made in a press release signed by Mazi Chuks Ibegbu, Chairman of the Board of Trustees.

Kanu and his crew were not aggressive, according to the Igbo Assembly, and were radicalized by Nigeria' s culture of impunity and cruelty.

The group demanded an end to Nigeria' s culture of impunity, which gave rise to Boko Haram and Shiite radicalism.

Recall that the Federal Government said on Tuesday that the self- proclaimed Biafran leader had been re- arrested.

Abubakar Malami, SAN, the Attorney- General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, verified the news, saying he was apprehended by a joint team of Nigerian and international security officials in a coordinated interception.

He was hauled before Justice Binta Nyako of an Abuja Federal High Court for the continuation of his trial against this backdrop.

After hearing Kanu and the government, Justice Nyako remanded him in the custody of the Department of State Services, or DSS.

Kanu had jumped bail and gotten out of court a few years previously.
